Carbon offsetting costs under CORSIA will add $4–8 per passenger to long-haul operating costs by 2027

ICAO CORSIA Phase 1 baseline calculations show airlines will need to offset 8–12% of international emissions growth from 2024 baseline. At current carbon credit prices of $18–24/tonne, this adds material per-ASK cost burden concentrated in legacy fleet operators with higher emission intensity.
