Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure
An engineer building the data infrastructure behind trustworthy AI
Factagora's Temporal Knowledge Graph runs on accurate, trustworthy data. Beyond collecting, processing, and storing data, the core of this role is making sure the research and product teams can genuinely trust that data. Systems that started simple to help us move fast become bottlenecks as we grow. In this role you'll take ownership of that transition: fixing what needs fixing, and redesigning what needs redesigning.
Responsibilities
- Designing and building large-scale data ingestion pipelines (batch and streaming)
- Designing and operating Knowledge Graph and ontology data stores (Graph DB, vector DB, and more)
- Building data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, and automation pipelines
- Operating the data platform and feature store used by our Research Engineers
- Designing cloud-based data infrastructure architecture and optimizing cost
- Designing and operating data security, access control, and privacy policies
Requirements
- 2+ years of software development experience, or equivalent practical ability
- Experience building data pipelines in at least one of Python, Scala, or Java
- Experience designing and operating SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience building data infrastructure on a cloud platform such as Azure
- Experience with large-scale data processing and performance optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and operating a Graph DB in a production service
- Experience building streaming or large-scale batch processing pipelines
- Experience operating a vector DB or embedding-based search infrastructure in production
- Experience designing or operating MLOps or a feature store
- Experience working with data pipelines in the media, news, or content platform domain
- Experience designing scalable infrastructure with limited resources at a pre-Series A startup
